Kashmiri kahwa is green tea brewed with whole spices and saffron, and served with slivered almonds. In Kashmir it is poured for guests, after meals and on cold evenings, traditionally from a samovar. You do not need a samovar to make good kahwa at home. A saucepan and a strainer do the job.
What you need
For two cups:
- Two cups of water
- One to two teaspoons of green tea leaves, or a kahwa blend
- Two or three green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- A small piece of cinnamon stick
